How art gives shape to cultural change

1.
I have decided to speak about the work of art at the 10:09 minutes. It’s a painting with a lot of colors like green, pink, yellow, blue, brown, and grey. There are two plans: in the foreground we can see tall grass with pink and blue flowers. If we look better, we observe there are a lot of small black and with people in this nature.  In the center, there are only “brown” people (on each other) and all around we see white people with legs, feet, arms, hair brown. The painting is crossed by a lot of bright colors: yellow, blue, pink, white, and red are associated in a kind of “spectrum”. The sharp foreground contrasts with the bluish tones of the black ground where we make out just the moon.
I like this painting because I think that colors are beautiful. The picture is very living. But the thing I prefer it’s that it’s difficult to figure out this picture. We can interpret this like we want. It’s very enigmatic: the viewer doesn’t understand who this people are and what the “spectrum” is. The night increases the feeling of unease. We have the impression that Nature gains the upper hand on the people. The painting is almost magical.

2.
Art can change the vision we have of culture and of us. Artist understands and rewrites story. They create work of art and give their vision of society.  Maybe viewers don’t have the same vision of the world and works of art seem all people don’t see. Art is like a dialog between people.

For Thelma Golden, museum is a very important place in the society because it’s the place where we can see the world’s vision of a lot of artist, the place where we can ask questions, the place where we can find answers.  But she asks her if a museum can show artists and do that they are agents of change.

3.
I’m agree with Thelma Golden when she says “think about artists not as content providers […] but again as real catalysts” because artists make work of art and they give their opinion in the society, their idea. When we watch work of art, we are always us but we win the artist’s vision.  Artists are “catalysts” because they spread their world vision and they accelerate the discussion and the change. Theses works move viewer and we don't forget the message.

Charm

I think love and charm are a beautiful relationship because Love is a little magical and it’s pleasant to believe that there are “recipes” to attain your love. When I was a child, in all magazine for little girls we find articles with cleverness, so we are forced to believe in these methods. When we are child I think it’s normal. For example, in this video, the boy believe that if he use a picture of his loved girl as the wallpaper on his cell phone and no person finds out about it three weeks he’ll attain his love…

In our society a lot of people believe all kinds of thinks. For example, people are afraid when we are the 13th Friday, when they see a black cat, or they don’t want to walk under a ladder. I don’t believe in these superstitions because  I thinks they are silly but I have other beliefs. When I was a child I believed in the Brazilian bracelet’s charm ( a friend did and gave a Brazilian bracelet to you and you must do a wish. You didn’t move present and when it broke, your wish come true.).
And now I have some lucky charms: when I find a four-leaf clover I keep this (and I say me: “I hope it will bring me luck!”), when I see a shooting star I do a wish… I think all people need a few of magic in the life.

"The fastest runner without legs"

Today, I’m going to speak about Oscar Pistorius.
He was born in 1986, in November, the twenty-second in Pretoria (South Africa). When he is eleven months doctors decided he must to have feet amputated because he didn’t have fibulas.

When he was child he played rugby, water polo and tennis.
In January 2004, he broke the right knee during a rugby match and he met handicapped athletes of University of Pretoria. Eight months after he run during Paralympics games in Athens with Marlon Shirley and Brian Frasure. He wins silver medals in the one hundred meters con Shirley and gold medal in the 200 meters. He runs the two hundred meters in 21,97 seconds and breaks the world record (22 seconds).

In 2005, he ran with no disabled athletes in South African championship and he was sixth.

Today, Oscar Pistorius has a big honors list (eleven gold medals, twenty seven world records…). I think he is a good example for everybody because he went after his dreams.

El Tex Mex

It’s the second years I live in Grenoble and I don’t know very well this city.
Last years, I discovered a little restaurant with my friend and now when we go out it’s our predilection restaurant.

Dear professor you said that you love French cook but do you know Mexican cook?
If you are interested by my idea, you can go to El Tex Mex. It’s on the bank. You must go by tramway and go out to “Victor Hugo”. Then, you cross the Isère and it’s towards a motorway exit. There is a big roundabout and you must go on the Place Aristide Briand and it’s there!
I hope you understand me because I’m not very clear! But it’s easy to find that place!

If you don’t know Mexican cook, you can take a plate with a lot of specialties. Like this you discoverd  all and the second time, you could take that you liked in the plate the first time. I did that and now I take fried shrimp. It’s so good!!!

I like this restaurant because when we go in, we trust to enter in a Saloon. I think it’s like we change your country and your epoch.  Sometimes there are singers who sing country music. I like this ambiance. It’s not very expensive, and if your friends don’t like Mexican food they can eat Burger.

Hello!!!

My name is Christel. I’m 19 years old. I study literature in second years in Grenoble. I have two older brothers who live in Grenoble too (Thibault is 23 years old and Bertrand who is 21 years). They study mechanic. We live with my parents.

I have a lot of hobbies. I like shopping with my friends and going to cinema. I prefer romantic and fantastic movies to thrillers. I like reading; I think it’s a fabulous way of dreaming, of escaping.  When I go to my parents, I like walking and watching nature (for example, birds in forest). I like listening music but I prefer playing trumpet and piano (I learn in music’s school and I play in a brass band).

My favorite quotation is “Carpe diem” because I think we must enjoy life!
